About HRMA
The Human Resource Management Association (HRMA) of Greater St. Louis originated in 1942 with the idea of providing support for those engaged in the management of personnel. Today we are much improved, affiliated with a national organization - Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and yet the underlying mission has remained basically the same. While the lingo and political jargon may have changed over the years, HRMA continues to be devoted to serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the interests of our profession.
Our theme for the 2011/2012 program year is to Connect, Engage & Inspire. As HR professionals it is important that we CONNECT and continue to build relationships, both old and new. Whether at our place of work, the communities we live in, or the organizations we choose to join, having healthy relationships is a key component to leading a fulfilling life. Staying ENGAGED is where learning occurs. Through engagement we are exposed to new ideas, circumstances and opportunities. Finally INSPIRE. As HR professionals we are in a unique position to inspire others towards greater learning and effectiveness. It matters not whether you are new and eager to the HR profession or a bit more seasoned and enlightened, inspiration can come in many forms and when you least expect it.
Membership includes a blend of breakfast & dinner meetings with featured HR topics, networking opportunities, educational events, social activities, newsletter subscription and various additional resources.
Our HRMA board members are all very inspired to connect with you to make 2011/2012 a fantastic year. Feel free to contact me or any board member with thoughts, concerns or suggestions.
